The wonderful New River Birding and Nature Festival ran from April 26 to May 1, 2010. I followed this with a 3-day Audubon Naturalist Society foray to the mountains of Northern West Virginia. Highlights here just begin to give a feel for the biological richness of West Virginia.

Ten days in the mountain state during early spring
