A visit to darién, in search of harpy eagle and more!

March 29 - April 5, 2018

Top to bottom: Two-toed Sloth, Barred Puffbird, Spot-breasted Woodpecker, Carlos Bethancourt pointing out destinations on a map.

We are headed to Darién, Panama’s wildest, easternmost province, for a visit to the delightful Canopy Camp.  A major goal of our trip is to search for the remarkable Harpy Eagle, the world’s most powerful raptor, and hopefully spending lots of time observing one or more of these remarkable birds.  Along the way we are certain to see many other birds, along with a variety of other wildlife, ranging from butterflies to mammals.  Our group is led by Mark Garland and Panamanian guide Carlos Bethancourt.  The trip is full, but contact us if you’d like to go visit Darien on our next trip.
