Cuba, January 13 - 25, 2017

I was able to accompany another terrific group on a visit to Cuba, with a primary focus on birds.  As on previous trips, we worked with the Caribbean Conservation Trust, the true pioneers of Cuba bird studies.  Giraldo Alayon was our Cuban naturalist guide, aided ably by local guides at our various destination.  We search for many of the birds considered endemic to Cuba, meaning they are never regularly found elsewhere.  We saw many of these, but also a great variety of other birds, with plenty of time to enjoy the ambiance and cultural richness of our big island neighbor.
