Naturalist Gary Mozel, from Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo, invited me to join him on an exploration of natural areas in northern Alberta. We visited the aspen parkland habitat at Elk Island National Park, but the rest of the visit focuses on the great boreal forest that extends from Alaska to Labrador and Maine.
